Army New Rule | Agnipath | Tour of duty | 4 years

What is Agnipath scheme?

1. It is also known as Tour of Duty (TOD) scheme 

2. Youth get a chance to serve in army for four years

3. Soldiers working in this scheme will be known as Agniveer 

4. This scheme has been implemented by Central government in June 2022.

5. 1st batch will start from July 2023 and total post available 46000 for 1st batch 

6. Covererage of 48lakh insurance

7. Inhand salary 1st year - 21k
                             2nd year - 23k
                             3rd year - 25.5k
                             4th year - 28k

8. No facility of gratuity and pension.


Who can Apply?

Both men and women between the age of 18 and 21 years.  Minimum qualification required 10th passed 


When Agnipath recruitment start?

Approx - September- October 2022

Why people are protesting against Agnipath scheme?

1. It would limit the opportunity for permanent jobs in defence sector

2. They are not eligible for pension

3. What will they do after 4 years ?
